Mark was born in Quenanbeyan, Australia on the 27th August 1976 he has 104 grand prix starts to his name he has accumalted 79 grand prix points.

Mark had a spell in karting before moving on to Australian Formula Ford then he moved to Britain in 1996 and raced in British Formula Ford. He moved onto F3 in 1997 and ranked fourth oddly enough he moved on to Mercedes sports car racing and did this for the next two years. in 2001 he raced Formula 3000 finishing as runner up he tested for Benetton but it was Minardi who signed him for F1 in 2002, he had a couple of season's with Jaguar then joined Williams in 2005 before moving to Red Bull.
