Singapore is brand new to the Formula one circuit, it will also be held at night just to make it more interesting. Herman Tilke the genius behind some great circuits has designed this lay-out. It is in the heart of the city so to some extent the city layout has dictated the track’s geometry.

Running in an anti-clockwise direction going through a water front park before turning right onto Raffles Boulevard to snake it’s way past some of Singapore’s plushest hotels, it also includes an underpass that they should be hitting at around 200mph. A nice tight section follows and then the cars can open up again as they zoom past the Colonial Government buildings.

The run across the Anderson Bridge is breathtaking, then the course takes a sharp left onto the above water Esplanade Drive. The home section comes next which is after a tight right onto Raffles Drive with a right left, esse past a huge grand stand.

New circuits are always bumpy it takes time for the rubber to work it’s way into the surface they are also notoriously slippery and with tropical rain always possible.
