Odds on the World Cup 2010 from Coral
World Cup Soccer
The 2010 World Cup is almost upon us we know which teams are going and the draw has finally taken place to decide who plays who. Once again England fans are jubiliant that they can progress thanks to probably one of the easiest groups ever devised for an England team, why is then that all I can see is Banana skins.
The groups are:
Group A made up of South Africa the host nation, Mexico, Uraguay and finally the French who will probably progress from this group with or without Thiery Henry's hands, this groups games are played in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Polokwane, Rustenburg and Bloemfontein.
Group B comprising Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea and Greece not an easy group to predict but going to stick my neck out and put Nigeria and South Korea through on this onee, they will be playing in Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Durban and Polokwane.
Group C Our group England, USA, Algeria and Slovenia of course England are going through followed by USA games to be played in Rustenburg, Polokwane, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Pretoria.
Group D made up of the perennial qualifiers Germany, then Australia, Serbia and Ghana, expect Ghana and Germany to go through from this group games to be played at Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg, Johannesburg, Nelspruit
Group E the one to watch with Holland, Denmark, Japan and Cameroon Hollan and Denmark to progress, games played in Johannesburg, Blomfontein, Durban, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Cape Town.
Group F Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand and Slovakia make up this group with Italy and Slovakia to go through for my money games will be played in Cape Town, Rustenburg, Blomfontein, Nelspruit, and Polokwane
Group G what a group this is with Brazil the other portugese speakers Portugal along with North Korea and Ivory Coast, Brazil and Ivory Coast will take this one games to be played at Port Elizabeth Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Nelspruit,
Group H Spain head this group with Switzerland, Honduras and Chile expect Spain and Chile to progress from this group in fact probably the easiest group to predict with games being played at Nelspruit, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Bloemfontein.
the last 16 will start on Saturday June 26 at Port Elizabeth and finish on June 29th at Cape Town the Quarter finals start July 2 and Finish on Saturday July 3, the Semi's will be held on July 6th and July 7th and the final will be on Sunday July 11 at Johannesburg Soccer City.
The overwhelming theme of these games are the game distances some nutter wearing a blindfold and having a pin decided where each game will be played absolutely no attempt to keep teams in a geographical location had been made so some teams will be travelling some incredible distances while others will be travelling some incredible distances, best of luck guys.
